Student Clubs and Organizations: Fresno State is home to more than 250 student clubs and organizations, ranging from academic and cultural organizations to recreational and religious clubs. Student groups participate in a variety of campus activities throughout the year. Students are encouraged to visit with club representatives during the Student Organization Fair during Fresno State Welcome. With so many choices, there is something for everyone!
Fraternities and Sororities: The Greek community at Fresno State has over 900 men and women in 38 single-sex Greek-letter fraternities and sororities. Greek life provides students with a variety of opportunities in leadership, social events and educational programs. Your experiences in the Greek community will help prepare you for life, including developing leadership skills, receiving academic support and establishing enduring friendships.
Leadership Program: A variety of programs, workshops and opportunities are available. The Leadership Program engages students so that they may learn the theoretical concepts of leadership, commit to responsible leadership in their communities, and engage and empower others to do the same.
Vintage Days: Vintage Days is a four-day, student-planned celebration that attracts over 50,000 people from Fresno and the surrounding communities to the Fresno State campus. The annual spring event, which occurs April 15-18, combines numerous social, cultural and recreational activities into a series of coordinated programs over an extended weekend. Each spring semester applications are accepted and student coordinators are selected to plan, organize and execute all of the events.
Fresno State Welcome: Held annually the first month of the fall semester, a series of events are held to “Welcome” new and returning students to campus. Various university programs and activities are provided including information on student leadership and involvement, academic success, and school spirit. Look for the Welcome tents during the first week of school for event information, campus directions and giveaways!
Club Sports: Club Sports offers an opportunity to stay active and compete with teams from other universities. There are currently 10 recognized Club Sports, which include Men and Women’s Bowling and Water Polo; Men’s Volleyball, Ice Hockey, Wrestling, Rodeo and Soccer; and Co-ed Ultimate Frisbee and Triathlon.
USU Board of Directors: The University Student Union Board of Directors is the Governing Board of the University Student Union and all of its components, including operating procedures, budgeting, event planning and much more! The Board is comprised mainly of students, with staff and faculty filling in as advisors for the group. We are always looking for enthusiastic leaders to sit on the USU Board of Directors and their committees.
USU Productions: Events for students, by students. USU Productions does it all—movies, bands, day trips, comedians, homecoming and much more...because college isn’t just about taking classes; it’s about the experience. USU Productions is one of the most active groups on campus, consisting of 10 committees that strive to develop enriching programs throughout the year.
Student Employment: The USU Board of Directors has committed to re-investing student fee dollars back into the hands of students. They employ over 50 students in key service areas for the USU including the Information Desk, Reservations Office, Post Office, USU Recreation Bowling Center, Public Relations/Graphic Design, and custodial and event support.
