Albertson College of Idaho is consistently nationally ranked for providing an exceptional educational experience by U.S. News & World Report and The Princeton Review. The ACI educational experience is firmly grounded in the liberal arts with an emphasis on student professor interaction. Professors are dedicated to teaching, using research as a tool to provide students with the best educational experience possible.
The college is committed to promoting self-discovery through the exploration of ideas. Through discovery, discussion and direction, students are awakened to new ideas. This unique learning experience is made possible because of the small campus community of students who share a love of learning with dedicated and passionate faculty members.
Recent graduate John Reuter explains it this way: “On a three-week trip to London, we visited the Modern Museum of Art. As I looked at a Picasso painting, the professor walked up behind me and quietly mentioned all these details about painting technique and Picasso’s life…and then he walked away. Suddenly, I was looking at the painting in a completely new and different way.”
Albertson College of Idaho offers students small classes taught by excellent professors: there are no teaching assistants. The personal attention students receive distinguishes the ACI experience. Professors have an open door policy and are known for interacting with students outside the classroom.
“Professors here keep students involved,” student Anna Bender said. “I don’t think I’ve ever been in a class where a teacher didn’t know my name and couldn’t describe how I performed academically in their class.”
The college offers a wide academic program with 32 majors, 37 minors, and 17 collaberative programs through 16 academic departments.

Albertson College of Idaho’s student focus extends well beyond the walls of the classroom. Students serve on every governing board and committee. Here, students have the opportunity to shape college policy and leave a permanent mark on the institution. For example, last year a student committee worked to institute a campus wide honor code. After a thoroughly researched proposal was presented, the student body voted to endorse the honor code and the committee won the support of the faculty, staff and board of trustees.
