Idaho is fast becoming a hotspot for wine lovers. In fact, the majority of Idaho’s vineyards are located in the southwest corner of the state, just minutes from the Albertson College of Idaho campus near the Snake River.
Southern Idaho offers vintners ideal growing conditions. Wine grapes thrive in the area’s four-
season climate. The region’s summer combination of cold nights and warm days serves to balance grape acids and sugars favorably. It is the combination of long growing days, moderate climate, and unique soil that makes the Snake River region of Idaho so beneficial to growing wine grapes.
The variety of wines produced by Idahos 31 wineries is tremendous. No matter the type, most vineyards are producing award winning wineries, collecting gold medals for varietals ranging from Pinot Noir to Chardonnay.
