West Valley Medical Center, Caldwell’s community hospital, is a 150-bed full-service hospital that serves the needs of the growing western Treasure Valley. West Valley stands well with area hospitals in large part because of its progressive approach and excellent staff. The physicians and staff at West Valley are committed to more than excellence in healthcare services—they’re also highly focused on making it a superior experience for patients and their families during their hospital visit.
The Caldwell hospital is designated as a Level III Trauma Center with 24-hour emergency services. West Valley’s Emergency Department recently underwent a major expansion and renovation project to provide first-rate critical care to those in need.
The West Valley Heart Center offers upgraded cardiac diagnostic technology and expanded rehabilitation capabilities. This modern outpatient facility is located in the Caldwell Family Medical Center, conveniently adjacent to the hospital campus. In addition to diagnosis of most heart conditions, many treatments can also be performed here, including pacemaker placement.
Other healthcare services offered at West Valley Medical Center include: medical-surgical, critical care, labor and delivery, pediatrics and mental health units; radiology services, including Softer Mammogram Provider status; industrial medicine; a sleep diagnostic center; community childbirth, parenting, diabetes and smoking cessation educational classes; and active volunteer and chaplain programs.
Nampa is home to Mercy Medical Center, a full service facility that offers services in all areas, as well as a number of specialists, hospices and other medical professionals. (More about Mercy Medical on page 42.)
The Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center is the premiere hospital in Boise and currently serves an average of almost 200,000 inpatient and outpatient visitors annually. Saint Alphonsus offers 381 licensed medical/acute care bed amenities to its surrounding communities. It is also boasts Idaho’s only Neurological Institute and Heart, Vascular, Orthopaedic, Surgical, Cancer and Behavioral Health Centers.
Meeting the healthcare needs of the surrounding area has become the mission of St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center in Boise. Established in 1902, with a mere six beds, St. Luke’s has grown to be Idaho’s largest healthcare provider. Presently affording 369 beds, the hospital is nationally recognized for its specialties in cancer and heart care, as well as its excellence in care for women and children.
In February of 2006, St. Luke’s was designated as Idaho’s only Magnet hospital and has received numerous awards for quality care and service. The St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center is equipped with countless services and extensive clinics including the Center for Heart and Vascular Health, the Mountain States Tumor Institute, the Center for Nominally Invasive Surgery, and the St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital, the sole hospital for children throughout Idaho. St. Luke’s, a not-for-profit health system, offers an open-door policy for all patients and continuously strives to provide superior healthcare for the communities it serves.
