
The Adult Education Department is about helping people reach their potential and succeed! Whether a student needs to complete their GED, learn English as a Second Language or improve their basic skills, Adult Education is there to guide, support and assist in so many ways. Adult education classes are offered throughout the community with no tuition costs.
Adult Education includes:
• Adult Basic Education — classes to improve basic skills and life skills
• GED preparation — classes to prepare for the GED tests to obtain the high school equivalency certificate
• English as a Second Language — beginning, intermediate and advanced level classes to improve English proficiency
• Family Literacy — childcare and educational activities for children ages birth-7 years whose parents are enrolled in ESL, ABE or GED classes
• Counseling — assists students in improving class attendance, provides career planning and transition to college
• Bilingual Counseling — helps students adjust to life in the United States and become aware of community resources
• Literacy Program — provides volunteer tutors for one-on-one or group tutoring to improve English language skills and reading skills
