Kishwaukee Community Hospital is a short-term, acute-care medical center located in DeKalb. Fully-accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations, the facility provides acute medical, surgical, intensive, coronary, rehabilitative, obstetrical, pediatric and emergency care to patients in DeKalb and its surrounding communities. Kishwaukee Community Hospital is a part of the KishHealth System, which also includes Valley West Community Hospital, Hauser-Ross Eye Institute and Surgicenter, DeKalb Community Hospice, Illinois Regional Cancer Center, Kishwaukee Cancer Care Center, DeKalb Magenetic Resonance Center, KishHealth Family and Specialty Care, Kishwaukee Health Foundation and Unlimited Performance Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine.
One of the five top employers in the Rochelle area with 241 employees and 61 registered nurses, Rochelle Community Hospital has been bringing healthcare to its patient base for more than 85 years. The recent renovation and expansion of the hospital brought in additional square footage totaling 16,331 feet with 7,219 square feet of renovated space in the emergency, imaging, laboratory, surgery and intensive care areas. The hospital also provides residents with Family Healthcare Clinics in Rochelle and Ashton, as well as an Occupational Health facility at the Petro and the Rochelle Medical Group, both in Rochelle.
Kindred Hospital Sycamore is a 69-bed long-term, acute-care healthcare facility dedicated to serving patients who are too ill for nursing and rehabilitation care, but need more attention than a short-term, acute-care facility. Services at the hospital include Advanced Nutrition, Brain Injury care, Dialysis, Bariatrics, Pain Management, Paliative Care, Care Givers and more.
In addition, a number of nursing home care services are available for the older generation in need of healthcare. DeKalb is home to Bethany Health Care and Rehabilitative Center, DeKalb County Rehabilitative and Nursing Center, Oak Crest Retirement Center and Pine Acres Care Center; the Rochelle area offers services at Healthcare Center East and Healthcare Center West; and Sandwich provides senior care at Dogwood Manor and Willowcrest Nursing Pavilion.
