Disability Support Services

Disability Support Services (DSS) ensures that students with disabilities have equal access to all services and programs offered at K-State. DSS supports students with disabilities in their mission to become an integral part of the K-State community and embrace the diversity of its students.

Our students are represented in all colleges, hold leadership positions in campus organizations and have been recipients of both the Goldwater and Truman scholarships.

Students with disabilities

Services and accommodations are individually designed and based on the specific needs of each student. Some examples may include sign language interpreters, testing accommodations, or residence hall modifications. An on-campus shuttle equipped with a hydraulic lift is available to eligible students. DSS also provides assistance to students who need adaptive technology or better study strategies.

Students with disabilities are encouraged to make an appointment with a DSS staff member during summer orientation or prior to enrollment to arrange appropriate accommodations before classes begin. Students are required to provide documentation of their disability.
