Diversity and Dual Career Development

The Office of Diversity and Dual Career Development is the senior administrative unit working with all elements of the university and the local community to enhance racial and cultural diversity at K-State.

A major emphasis is the recruitment and retention of multicultural students. In recruitment, the office works with the Office of Admissions to ensure that prospective multicultural students meet multicultural K-State students and the director of Multicultural Programs and Services during campus visits. The office also provides mentors and College-for-a-Day Institutes to middle and high school students wishing to prepare early for college. In retention, the Office of Diversity oversees the Project IMPACT Summer Bridge Program, the nine diversity point people and two diversity faculty fellows in the colleges, and 23 multicultural student organizations. It also provides information about campus programs and services, scholarships, student employment, career and professional development opportunities, problem-resolution services, tutoring and emergency help. The Office of Diversity welcomes multicultural students to K-State, advocates for them, and serves as a central source of support until graduation.
