Be you. Be Greek. K-State’s award-winning fraternity and sorority community has a lot to offer: academic success, leadership opportunities, a packed social and service calendar, close friends, 45 chapters, 3,330 members, 23 governing council awards for excellence, the nation’s number one sorority community, and 81 percent of chapters with national awards of excellence, including 10 selected as number one in the country.
Joining a chapter doesn’t mean you’re a better person, but you’ll become one. Greek life’s unique mix of hard work, fun, and personal connections will refine your potential.
Chapters have GPA expectations for membership, and scholarship chairs oversee programs to support academics. Tutoring, study groups, peer mentoring, recognition banquets, and $400,000 in annual scholarships are available. The Greek GPA has exceeded the non-Greek GPA for 28 consecutive years.
Chapters aren’t just houses, they’re homes occupied by 13-86 members and are located near the main campus. All sororities and one-third of fraternities are alcohol-free.
Greeks have many leadership opportunities. Chapters are operated by members with help from advisors. Greeks hold 65 percent of campus leadership positions in K-State’s 450 student organizations. Groups support philanthropies, and many social events involve raising money or giving hours to service projects—$200,000 and 30,000 hours annually.
