K-State Student Union
Your K-State Student Union is the crossroads of the university. The Union is not just a building, it is a symbol for the free exchange of ideas and a convergence of people that is the core of the college experience. It is impossible to imagine K-State without the Union.
Students, faculty, staff, alumni, and guests each define the Union in hundreds of different ways: meeting place, entertainment center, restaurant, art gallery, oasis, study hall, classroom, multicultural hub, and campus gathering point. The Union is all these things and much more, but perhaps it is best defined in a simple word: home.
The Union has been serving as a home-away-from-home for K-State students since it opened in 1956. In 50 years its central purpose has remained unchanged: to provide programs, education, and services, as well as build a sense of community both on campus and for the surrounding communities.
The Union serves as a home to many campus organizations and the campus radio station. The Union is also home to the policy-making body of the Union, the Union Governing Board, and Union Program Council, which hosts more than 180 different activities and entertainment events every year in the Union and on campus.
The Union offers students many shops and services, including Panda Express, Taco Bell, Chick-fil-A, Salsarita’s, Subway, and Caribou Coffee. The Recreation Center, a campus favorite, has 16 bowling lanes, 14 full-size billiard tables and a golf simulator. The Computer Store specializes in student discounts on computer hardware and software. The bookstore has everything a student needs for classes, online textbook ordering, and a great selection of K-State apparel and gift merchandise.
Culture, recreation, entertainment, learning, sharing, and campus-life enrichment; it all happens here in your home-away-from-home, the K-State Student Union, the crossroads of K-State. We are here for you.
