The K-State Parents and Family Association (PFA) is a way for families to actively engage in their student’s college experience by participating in campus programs and activities specifically designed for families. Parents and family members of K-State students are automatically members of the K-State Parents and Family Association!
Donations from contributing members fund student scholarships, an emergency fund for students in crisis, orientation and enrollment parent programs, the K-State Legacy program, alcohol-free programming for students at K-State After Hours, and the campus safety video. These projects enhance student life in all aspects—academic, social, and professional development—and are an investment in the future of K-State. Parents and family members have donated more than $100,000 to support K-State students through the PFA fund.
Parents and family members provide a valuable service to the K-State community through their participation as volunteers at a variety of events and support the association by:
• Serving on the PFA Advisory Board
• Participating in fundraising
• Contributing to the Parents and Family Fund
• Reviewing brochures and Web sites
• Representing the PFA at recruitment events
• Welcoming new families at orientation activities
• Hosting receptions for prospective students
• Sponsoring an internship or job shadow student
