
The Office of Student Activities and Services
The Office of Student Activities and Services complements the academic programs of study at K-State by providing opportunities for involvement and the necessary support for K-State students. The office oversees the registration of student organizations, legal services for students, office of consumer and tenant affairs, and the Student Governing Association. The office also provides a notary public, has information about voter registration, and administers the SafeRide and good neighbor programs.
Student Organizations
The Office of Student Activities and Services registers more than 450 student organizations each year, providing them with advice and support in their daily activities. The office can help organizations plan and fund events, develop leadership potential of members, and collaborate with other organizations.
Legal Services for Students
Legal Services for Students provides free legal advice to currently enrolled students as well as legal education programs to the entire university community. The attorney can also provide valuable resources and advice.
Consumer and Tenant Affairs
The Consumer and Tenant Affairs (CTA) office serves students by providing information on landlord/tenant rights and responsibilities and aids in the resolution of consumer complaints regarding products and/or services. CTA also provides several brochures regarding consumer issues and landlord/tenant information.
Student Governing Association
Officials of the Student Governing Association (SGA) are responsible for voicing the concerns of the student body and serving as an underlying force of cooperation between the faculty, the students, and the colleges of Kansas State University.
There are three SGA branches. The executive branch consists of the student body president, student body vice president, and the cabinet. The legislative branch consists of Student Senate and six standing committees that establish policies and allocates more than $12.3 million in privilege fees. The judicial branch hears non-academic misconduct complaints against other students, which occur on campus.
