The Counseling and Testing Center at UL Lafayette offers professional services to students who may need assistance or support. Those services include personal counseling, crisis intervention and short-term psychotherapy. The center also provides national standardized testing information and administration.

Counseling services are free to all registered students, faculty and staff. The center provides individual, family, couple and group counseling, as well as crisis intervention. Sessions are unlimited, voluntary and completely confidential.

Appointments to see a counselor can be made via phone or stopping by the Counseling and Testing Center. The Center is open Monday through Friday. After hours, an on-call counselor is available to attend to emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The counseling center also works with School Leaders Involved in Drinking and Drug Education (SLIDDE) to try to prevent drug and alcohol abuse with educational programs, interactive events, emotionally stirring displays and much more.

National standardized tests are available through this department for students and other community members to obtain college credit, gain admission to UL or another educational institution or become certified in a number of professions.

Test-takers can benefit from the brand new testing lab in the Advanced Computer Technology and Research (ACTR) building, Room 119. Most of the tests are administered via online programs.
