A modern multidisciplinary arts venue, the Acadiana Center for the Arts is a vital resource for the area’s thriving cultural and entertainment community.

The facility features a 5,000-square-foot main gallery and three smaller galleries, studio spaces, a host of theatrical, musical and dance performances, and a number of lectures and seminars throughout the year. The newest addition is a 300-seat courtyard theater, which is home to the Louisiana Crossroads music series.

A further cultural venue in the area is the Heymann Performing Arts Center, which has an intimate 2,230-seat performance facility.

Additionally, the Frem F. Boustany Convention Center is located here, featuring 1,500 square feet of banquet space, along with 20,000 square feet of exhibition space.

The Heymann Performing Arts Center hosts bi-monthly performances by the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra, and also features performances by the Lafayette Ballet Theatre, Broadway presentations from the Theatre League of Louisiana and the Performing Arts Society of Acadiana’s event season.

Further sites dedicated to the arts include Cite des Arts, offering theatrical productions, films, classes and exhibit space, the Lafayette Arts Association and Gallery, and the Paul and Lulu Hilliard University Art Museum at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

This Louisiana region is home to a wealth of dynamic year ‘round events celebrating all facets of life. One of the most prominent of these events is Lafayette’s Mardi Gras, the second largest event of its kind in Louisiana. The area’s Mardi Gras season includes parades, balls, entertainment, masking and much more. The festivities begin with the Friday night parade and Le Festival de Mardi Gras a Lafayette located at Cajun Field, ending with Fat Tuesday.
