Lafayette hails as the center of shopping for this region, drawing in a trade area of nearly 600,000 shoppers within a 50-mile radius.
The area is home to regional malls, a multitude of lifestyle shopping centers, a lively downtown shopping district and much more—together, creating a retail environment stocked with anything and everything to meet those shopping needs.
Major retail sites here include the Mall of Acadiana, Northgate Mall, the Oil Center, the River Ranch Traditional Neighborhood Development and the downtown shopping district. The Mall of Acadiana is anchored by Dillard’s, Macy’s, JCPenney and Sears, and boasts of more than 100 stores, with Northgate Mall offering similar options in the city as well. Locally owned specialty shops call such areas as the Oil Center, River Ranch and the downtown district home, providing for a distinct shopping experience filled with items such as antiques, collectibles, arts and crafts, jewelry and more.
