Welcome
Welcome to the Missouri State University family! In most of my correspondence, I mention that Missouri State is a great place to live, learn and grow. Each new academic year that message is reinforced by those of us who work at this great institution of higher education; especially by those of us who work in student affairs!
During the opportunities that I have to address students, I often convey that they are part of an exclusive group of individuals. We define that exclusive group as “college students.” The role we have at Missouri State is to assist our college students to join an even more exclusive group by becoming college graduates! We focus upon the success of each individual student and strive to provide the experiences and support necessary to join the Missouri State citizen-scholars who have come before them.
This publication will hopefully serve as an important resource as we all work together to create the opportunities for success. While we expect college life to be a place where students are challenged to excel in and out of the classroom, students should also expect assistance, support and guidance.
You will find that the professionals within student affairs provide not only opportunities for leadership and personal engagement, but help remove the barriers that might hinder progress and ensure the positive support necessary for individual success.
