

The Campus Recreation Department offers a wide variety of recreational programs for Missouri State students, faculty and staff. Participation facilitates educational interaction outside of the classroom while stimulating a sense of community, providing leadership and development opportunities for students, and promoting individual wellness.
The Intramural Sports Program provides opportunities for competition in team sports and individual activities. With 10 team sports and seven individual tournament activities offered each semester, there are a lot of ways to get involved. Popular team activities include flag football, soccer, basketball, softball and sand volleyball.
Our Fitness and Wellness Program offers a variety of group fitness classes and wellness programs. Group Fitness classes are a great way to get in shape while having fun in an enthusiastic and comfortable environment. Current group fitness favorites are Latin Cardio Vibes, Yogalaties, Absolute Cardio and Bootcamp. Wellness programs provide classes with licensed instructors and include Mat Pilates, Power Yoga, Belly Dance and Zumba.

Outdoor Adventures provides opportunities to explore the outdoors and learn new skills through trips and workshops ranging from rock climbing and caving to snow skiing in Steamboat Springs, CO. Equipment rentals are available for camping, canoeing, kayaking and other outdoor sports.
Coming in the fall of 2011, the new University Recreation Center will provide the campus community with opportunities for open recreation and fitness, as well as organized activities. The $23 million facility will be just over 95,000 square feet and will include an indoor jogging track, recreational pool, three sports courts equipped for everything from indoor tennis to basketball, climbing wall, fitness center with state-of-the-art equipment, locker rooms and multi-purpose rooms.
