Missouri State University can feel like a large campus at first, but through getting involved in programs, student organizations and campus-wide events, Missouri State feels more like home. Being involved encourages and advances your development on all levels: intellectual, cultural, spiritual, physical and social. Involved students are more likely to graduate, feel more connected to the university, the campus, the people and are more familiar with university resources. Those students report higher levels of satisfaction with their college experience.

The Office of Student Engagement is dedicated to providing an environment where all students are empowered to be actively involved both inside and outside of the classroom. We believe by enhancing the resources and development of students, student organizations and advisors, we will provide opportunities to create memorable experiences that will complement the academic and public affairs mission of the university. We will provide programs that promote co-curricular involvement through the development of leaders, cultural understanding, intellectual growth, philanthropic spirit, social engagement, service to others and the promotion of lifelong learning.

The following are all of the different units within the Office of Student Engagement:

Student Organizations
Get engaged in your new community by choosing from more than 300 student organizations. Organizations fall into eight different categories, including Greek, professional, honorary, religious, service, social, sports and university.

Student Activities Council (SAC)
SAC is the student-run organization responsible for providing diverse programs for our student body. SAC plans a number of events throughout the year, including lectures, comedy shows, concerts, carnivals, the weekly film series and more.

Fraternity & Sorority Life
The Fraternity & Sorority Community strives to promote academic excellence, to provide leadership opportunities and to support and serve the university and community.

Leadership
The Commerce Bank Emerging Leaders program and the SGA/Hutchens Centennial Leadership Scholarship program provide freshman and sophomores with invaluable leadership skills to complement their collegiate experience and beyond.

Homecoming
During Homecoming week, the Office of Student Engagement hosts various competitions and events for students.

Other Campus Events & Programs
The Office of Student Engagement coordinates other events, like Bear Bash, New Student Festival, Sample Springfield, May Day and Safe Zone program.
