Taylor Health and Wellness Center
Taylor Health and Wellness Center is conveniently located on the Missouri State University campus, next to the University Bookstore. At Taylor Health and Wellness Center, we are dedicated to providing quality health and preventive care at minimum cost to the University community. Ensuring quality care, Taylor Health and Wellness Center is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). A qualified staff of physicians, nurses, technicians, pharmacists and medical support personnel look forward to serving your health and wellness needs.
Primary Care: Primary care provides routine and preventive medical services on an outpatient basis, including diagnosis and treatment of illnesses and injuries, minor surgery and follow-up care and treatment. The full-time professional staff includes board certified physicians, RNs, LPNs, registered pharmacists, lab and X-ray technicians and other medical support personnel.
Laboratory: The laboratory provides diagnostic testing for the center. All tests must be ordered by a Taylor Health and Wellness Center physician (or have proper documentation for an outside referral) and are performed by registered medical technologists.
Radiology: The radiology department provides basic, diagnostic X-rays ordered by the center's physicians (or with proper documentation for an outside referral) and interpreted by consulting radiologists.
Treatment Clinic: The Treatment Clinic offers routine procedures, such as immunizations, allergy injections, pre-employment health screenings, TB skin tests and interpretation, blood pressure checks, EKGs and travel medicine. No appointment is necessary, just check in at Taylor's reception/appointment desk prior to being seen in the Treatment Clinic.
Pharmacy: Registered pharmacists staff the Taylor Health and Wellness Center pharmacy and can fill prescriptions written by either Taylor Health and Wellness physicians or personal physicians. For your convenience, prescriptions may be phoned in or faxed by your physician. The pharmacy also stocks a variety of over-the-counter products, such as cold and allergy medications, bandages, pain relievers and contact lens solutions. The pharmacy accepts most major health insurance prescription cards. Please notify your insurance company that you are a student. Call (417) 836-4050 for more information.
Consulting Specialists: The Taylor Health and Wellness Center has consulting specialists in Gynecology, Nutrition Counseling, Diabetes Education, Orthopedics, Psychiatry, Psychology and Radiology.
