TRiO Programs - Upward Bound & Talent Search

trio program

Upward Bound is the oldest of the existing TRiO programs at Case. Established in 1966, the program is designed to prepare low-income and potential first-generation college students for successful post-secondary studies directed toward professional careers. High school students (grades nine through twelve) attending one of our four identified target schools in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District are eligible for participation in the program. The program includes intensive instruction in all levels of mathematics, the natural sciences, foreign languages and English and literature. The program is year-round and includes a six-week summer residential component that serves 60 students and a well-developed academic year component that serves 110 students.

The Talent Search Program, first funded in 1998 at Case, is an educational program designed to encourage youths (grades six through twelve) attending schools in the East Cleveland City School District to successfully complete secondary education and successfully enroll into a post-secondary institution.
