Attractions & Recreation
The Dayton region has significant heritage, which is highlighted through a number of well-maintained historical sites. Its distinguished aviation history is showcased at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force and the Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park, an attraction celebrating the lives of three of Dayton’s most remarkable natives: poet Paul Laurence Dunbar and Wilbur and Orville Wright.
Historical attractions are located through one of the many locations of the Five Rivers MetroParks system as well. In addition to these sites, visitors to the MetroParks enjoy exploring the preserved natural beauty of the area through gardens, woodlands, meadowlands, lakes and ponds, and winding recreational trails. The parks also offers a long list of educational programming.

The cultural landscape of this area is rich and has been recognized as one of the top destinations for arts and culture among mid-sized U.S. cities.
Museums, distinct art galleries and entertainment venues are fused with high-quality dance companies, musical avenues and theater troupes.
Plus, with a calendar year full of family-friendly events, there is always something to do in the Dayton area.

Shoppers delight in the variety of retail centers available in the greater Dayton area.
Neighborhood shopping centers are complemented by large-scale malls, which together provide an extensive assortment of products and services. The dining selection is just as diverse. Casual, family-style eateries; pubs; fast-food diners; and fine dining restaurants line the streets, serving up eclectic menus featuring everything from hamburgers and pizza to steak and seafood, as well as authentic ethnic cuisine.
