Health Care
The Dayton area is home to a number of first-class health care resources, ensuring residents and visitors to the area have easy access to the highest quality in medical attention. Private practices, community clinics and major hospital campuses are all available in the region, providing an exhaustive list of health care services and programs.
The Children’s Medical Center of Dayton
Approximately 190,000 children are served each year at the Children’s Medical Center of Dayton, the region’s pediatric referral center. The 155-bed facility houses the award-winning Level III Regional Newborn ICU and Wallace Critical Care Complex and offers accredited programs in sleep disorders, cancer care and trauma care.
Dayton VA Medical Center
Recognized as one of the oldest VA facilities, the Dayton VA Medical Center has served the region’s veterans for nearly 145 years through a wide range of general and specialized health care programs. The 500-bed medical center supports four Community-Based Outpatient Clinics in Lima, Middletown, Richmond and Springfield.
Kettering Health Network
Kettering Health Network operates more than 60 facilities in the Dayton area, which includes four Thomson Reuters 100 Top Hospitals: Kettering Memorial Hospital, Grandview Hospital, Sycamore Hospital and Southview Hospital. Greene Memorial Hospital in Xenia is also part of the system, providing recognized programs in cancer, emergency care and rehabilitation, among others.

PHP is an extensive health system comprised of more than 65 locations, including four hospitals (Miami Valley Hospital; Atrium Medical Center; Upper Valley Medical Center; and Good Samaritan Hospital Dayton, which also owns and operates the Dayton Heart & Vascular Hospital), two health centers (Good Samaritan North Health Center and Miami Valley South Health Center), and a variety of community-based resources.
