Housing & Residence Life

The convenience of living on campus provides a “small-college atmosphere” while allowing students to enjoy the benefits of a larger university environment. On-campus housing at ETSU offers a variety of convenient, safe, attractive and affordable options for first-year students to graduate students. These include traditional residence halls, efficiency apartments, private rooms, family housing and apartments with private bedrooms. Sophomores and above will enjoy Buccaneer Ridge Apartments, a community offering two- and four-single occupancy bedroom apartments.

Students who live on campus will have easy access to parking, campus activities, intercollegiate athletics, resources, Sherrod Library, the Culp University Center, the student health clinic, computer labs and the Basler Center for Physical Activity. On-campus living provides many opportunities for residents to experience individual growth and development. By living with a diverse group of residents, students learn to understand and appreciate many different points of view, and they will form friendships that can last a lifetime. Residents are provided with activities that increase their understanding of diversity, enhance their leadership abilities and promote their social and emotional well-being.

Residence life success depends on quality student input and participation. Residents have the opportunity to participate in academic and leadership experiences including:

• The First-Year Program, which is designed to assist students in learning to be successful in college.

• The International Living and Learning Community, which offers all students the opportunity to live, learn and play together.

• The Residence Hall Association (RHA), which represents residents and provides opportunities for life skill development.

• The Residence Hall Judicial Board, which adjudicates rule violations.

• The National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH), which recognizes and honors residents who exhibit strong leadership and participation within residence life.
