D.P. Culp University Center

The D.P. Culp University Center serves as the community center for the university family. With its broad range of services and offices, the Culp University Center assists the campus community by providing meeting facilities and a variety of programming opportunities, which include concerts, lectures, musical performances, movies and other entertainment events.

In 2008, the University Center, named for ETSU President Dr. Delos Poe Culp who served the university from 1968-77, underwent a multimillion dollar renovation to improve the efficiency of the building’s heating and cooling system, install a new visual and audible fire alarm system, and provide multiple aesthetic updates throughout the University Center. This included a complete interior renovation of the Martha Street Culp Auditorium.

Within the building is a full-service information desk, an auditorium, a ballroom, multiple meeting spaces, five food service operations, multiple lounge areas, the campus post office, a student computer lab, the bookstore and student service offices, including the Student Organization Resource Center, the Welcome Center, the Advisement, Resources and Career Center, the Student Affairs main office, the Counseling Center, Disability Services, the East Tennessean, Student Support Services and campus dining service offices.

Campus Dining Services

Campus Dining Services is a major element of the building services with a lounge and coffee shop on the lower level called the CAVE, the Atrium Food Court with multiple options, as well as the BucMart Convenience Store on the middle level, and a traditional cafeteria called the Marketplace on the third level.

The main office for the Culp University Center is located on the middle level. It houses the facility reservations, camps and conferences, campus lost and found and the Campus ID Services office. The Culp University Center office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-10 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Summer hours are Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m.-7 p.m., Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and closed on weekends. For more information, call (423) 439-4286. The University Center is on the Web at www.etsu.edu/univcent.

ID Services

Campus ID Services provides each member of the community with an ID card, and manages the specific benefits and services that come with being a member of the ETSU family. The heart of the system is the official photo ID card, which is issued during new student orientations or anytime after registration for classes.

ID Services

The ID card provides students, faculty, staff and guests with controlled access to all residence halls, computer labs, academic buildings, the Mini-Dome, athletic events, the Basler Center for Physical Activity, Sherrod Library and the Digital Media Lab. The ID card also provides access to meal plans, library services, health clinic services and tickets to athletic/student events.

Nearly all financial transactions on the campus can be completed using the ID Buc$ debit account option that comes with each card. By depositing funds into this account, students may pay for fees, services and purchases at several locations on campus. The account is easily managed online.

In fall 2009, participating merchants off campus will begin accepting ID BUC$ as payment. The card may be used at participating area grocery stores, restaurants, salons, gas stations and other businesses. The ID Services Web site will include a current list of merchants.

The ID Services office is open Monday from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. and Tuesday through Friday from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. For more information, call (423) 439-8316. ID Services is on the Web at www.etsu.edu/id.
