Five independent school districts serve more than 53,000 pre-K through 12th grade students residing within the city. Corpus Christi ISD is the largest of the five, encompassing 63 campuses housing a total of approximately 39,000 students. The other four districts include Flour Bluff ISD, Calallen ISD, Tuloso-Midway ISD and West Oso ISD.

A multitude of private schools are also available in Corpus Christi for those in need of an alternative to the public school route. The Catholic Diocese of Corpus Christi operates nearly 20 parochial schools in and around the city.
